In order to be a member of the Texas 200 Sailing Club, Club Dues must be paid on an annual, calendar year basis. Participation in the annual June event is for members only. All participants (Captains and all crew members) must be dues-paying members of the Club the year of the event. In order to sign up for the event, make sure your Club Dues are paid, along with the other optional items below, and send an email to Matt Schiemer (mschiemer200@gmail.com) with the following information: Name of captain and all crew member(s), name and make of boat, and your home port/city.
Please download, print and sign a copy of the waiver below for each crew member and bring them to the captains meeting
Members of Club must pay dues on an annual, calendar-year basis. Club Dues are used to cover several Club expenses including insurance, accounting, tax filing, web hosting, etc. Club membership is open to all. Participants in our annual June event must be dues-paying members the year of the event. There are no refunds on dues payments.
The Club arranges a charter bus to shuttle participants from the parking location in Magnolia Beach to the starting point for the annual June event (Port Isabel or Port Mansfield) on the Sunday before the start of the event. Use of the charter bus is optional. Participants can arrange for their own transportation if desired. We ask that only one bus seat is purchased for each registered boat. No refunds. Bus seats will be sold on a first come first served basis and there is a chance the bus could sell out, so please buy your bus tickets as early as possible.
At the end of the event, we hold a Shrimp Boil on the beach at Magnolia Beach, for all participants and any family and friends that would like to join us. Your ticket includes a plate of food (shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn, etc.) as well as cold water, soda, beer and tea. One ticket per person, and there are no limits - all are welcome. We typically stop selling tickets about a week before the event so that we can place the order with the restaurant that caters this for us. In terms of timing/logistics, the fleet will typically arrive on the beach at Magnolia Beach around noon on Friday, and we start the shrimp boil around 3pm, so that folks have time to pack up their boats, get them on trailers, etc., prior to the shrimp boil. The location is right on the beach at the finish line.
Any dues-paying member in good standing can purchase and fly the Texas 200 Club Burgee. Burgees are ordered and distributed once per year. Orders/payments can be made starting January 1st each year, and we place the order with the supplier on May 1st. All burgees are distributed in person at the Captains meeting at the annual June event. Anyone who does not attend the Captains meeting will have their burgee mailed to them after the June event. The purchase of a Club Burgee is optional for participants in the annual June event. Deadline for purchase is May 1st. No refunds. Click HERE for the burgee history
